(5) Purpose of the competition
The "BIAC Cup" National University Commercial Arbitration Essay Competition with Prizes is a branch of the BAC's "Cradle Plan"，Aims to encourage law students in colleges and universities to become familiar with arbitration，Lay the foundation for more young talents to become promoters of arbitration in the future。The contest was first held in 2013，Will follow "Promoting Arbitration Culture、The concept of “cultivating new arbitration talents” is carried out year by year。
Participate in this competition，Authors need to write and submit articles focusing on substantive or procedural legal issues related to commercial arbitration or other alternative dispute resolution (ADR)，The BAC encourages innovative and practical topic selection，Thesis topics include but are not limited to:
1. Substantive legal issues in commercial disputes;
2. Legal issues related to commercial arbitration system and procedures;
3. Legal issues related to the application of international commercial arbitration laws;
4. Legal issues related to the enforcement and judicial supervision of commercial arbitration awards；
5. Mediation、Legal issues related to dispute review and other multiple dispute resolution methods。
The competition encourages papers to focus on the following topics: Research on commercial arbitration services under the “One Belt, One Road” initiative；Problems existing in China’s Arbitration Law、Modified direction、Suggestions for modifying content；Comparative study of arbitration rules；Issues related to the arbitration agreement；Additional party system in arbitration；Research on the design of arbitration procedures for multi-party parties；Consolidated Arbitration Research；Research on emergency arbitrator system；Provisional measures in arbitration；Issues related to the place of arbitration；International investment arbitration theoretical and practical issues, etc.。

2. Competition arrangements
(1) Paper collection (May 4, 2016 - July 25, 2016)
1. Online announcement: Relevant information about this competition will be announced on the BAC website，Open call for papers from law schools across the country。
(1) Word count: no less than 5000 words，In principle, no more than 15,000 words；
(2) The paper format complies with the submission format requirements of "Beijing Arbitration" (for details, see: http://www.bjac.org.cn/page/cbw/bzzc.html），Please indicate the author’s school in a footnote next to the author’s name、Grade、Education、Mobile phone number and other basic information；
(3) Submitted papers must not be published in any form，And has not won any awards in any other competition，The author must ensure that the paper complies with academic ethics and is responsible for the originality and originality of the paper。
3. Submission method: Authors who intend to participate in this essay competition，Please send the electronic version of the paper that meets the above requirements to the following email: zhaoke@bjac.org.cn，The name of the electronic document is "name + institution + thesis title；
4. Deadline: The deadline for submission of this essay contest is: July 25, 2016。
(2) Preliminary review of thesis (July 26, 2016 - August 10, 2016)
1. Formation of the preliminary review team of the paper: Some experts from the review team will form the preliminary review team of the paper。
2. Preliminary review of papers: The preliminary review team will conduct a preliminary review of all participating papers。
3. Preliminary review results: The preliminary review team selected 30 outstanding papers from all participating papers for review based on the preliminary review results，The authors and titles of papers entering the review stage will be announced on the BAC website。
(3) Paper review (August 11, 2016 - August 31, 2016)
1. Form a paper review team: Some review team experts will form a paper review team。
2. Thesis review: Thesis review team will review thirty papers that passed the preliminary review。
3. Review results: The paper review team based on the review situation，Fifteen outstanding papers will be selected from the thirty papers that passed the preliminary review to enter Bet365 Online Live Dealerthe defense review stage，The authors and titles of papers entering the defense review stage will be announced on the BAC website。
(4) Defense review (September 1, 2016-September 15, 2016)
1. Form a defense team: Some experts from the review team will form a thesis defense team。
2. Organize the defense review: The thesis defense team will conduct the defense review of the authors of the fifteen papers that have passed the review (the defense will be held at the BAC，Students from other places can defend via video)。
(5) Paper Selection (September 16, 2016-September 20, 2016)
1.Grading: based on review and defense，Weighted scoring for fifteen papers that passed the review，Summary score。
2. Selection of first, second, third and excellence awards: from high to low based on weighted scores，Fifteen papers won the first, second and third prizes and the excellence award in the 4th "BIAC Cup" National University Commercial Arbitration Essay Contest based on scores，For details on bonus and quota settings, please refer to the "Reward Mechanism" section。
3.The selection results will be released through the BAC’s official website and the BAC’s official WeChat platform。
(6) Award Ceremony (specific time will be notified separately)
Organize an awards ceremony and issue award certificates to the winning authors.
(7) Paper publication and follow-up arrangements
1. With permission from the author，The winning paper will be published in Beijing Arbitration。
2. The BAC will give priority to award-winning authors with internship opportunities at the BAC。

1. First Prize: 1；Bonus: RMB 8,000。
2. Second Prize: 2 people；Bonus: RMB 5,000。
3. Third Prize: 5；Bonus: RMB 2,000。
4. Excellence Award: 7；Bonus: RMB 1,000。
1. Paper publication: The winning paper will be published in "Beijing Arbitration"。
2. Internship opportunities: The BAC will give priority to award-winning authors to provide internship opportunities at the BAC。
IV. Supplementary Provisions
(1) Paper selection based on fairness、Justice、The principle of recommendation is based on the best，The review team can judge the quality of the paper based on experience based on the following standards:
1. Novel topic selection for the paper，Has academic or practical research value。
2. The format of the paper complies with the paper requirements listed in the "Call for Papers" section above (try to cite original documents and first-hand information，All cited documents，Should be stated truthfully；Quoting other people’s opinions、Plan、Information、Data, etc.，Both should be complete、Objective comments)。
3. Thesis structure is complete，Careful argumentation，Not a textbook introduction。
4. Thesis Language Expression Standards，Use French，The sentences are smooth。
5. The paper has clear logic，Clear point of view，No shoddy work、Low level duplication、The phenomenon of one-sided pursuit of the number of words。
6. The research methods and research results of the paper have certain academic value or have certain guiding significance for arbitration practice。
(2) The BAC is responsible for explaining the arrangement of this event；The BAC may adjust the above arrangements according to the development of activities。
